Sublimation is taking over in the crafting world. If you are curious about sublimation and would like to dip your toes before committing all the way, Cricut Infusible Ink is a great way to start.
Introducing Cricut Infusible Ink Markers. They may look like a regular marker but are so much cooler! When the special ink is heat activated on a compatible surface, it literally "infuses" into the item, creating a seamless design. It will not lift, peel, or stretch. Better yet - all you need is regular copy paper. We don't recommend sublimation paper, as the textured surface can be hard on the tips of your markers.
Getting Started: Just draw! It's that easy. Your design will need to be flipped (mirrored) when pressing on your project, so words and numbers will need to be written backwards, if included.
Or you can create your design in Cricut Design Space and get your Cricut cutting machine to do all the work for you (Infusible Ink markers are compatible with Cricut Explore and Maker models). Under the operation menu, select Draw > Pen, the choose your appropriate marker size and colour. Once your design is complete, select the Make It button, and follow the on-screen instructions. To hold your copy paper while drawing, you will need a LightGrip Cutting Mat. Don’t forget to mirror your image!
How to apply: Use a heat source that reaches 400°F (205°C). We recommend the Cricut Easy Press or a clamshell press. You may also use the Cricut Mug Press for mugs and select tumblers. For specific time/temperature instructions, check out the Cricut Heat Guide. Make sure you use butcher paper to protect both your item and your heat press.
Tip: Heat resistant tape is handy (we recommend Siser Heat Tape)! Use tape to hold your design in place and avoid ghosting and shifting during heat application process. Do NOT use regular tape as it may melt under the heat. If using for tumblers, ensure you tape all around the tumbler.
We also have Cricut Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets available in patterns and solid colours, ideal for larger projects.
We recommend waiting 24 hours before washing Infusible Ink projects.

PS: Store your markers on their side. Stand them up cover side down about 15 minutes before use. This will ensure the ink will flow nicely when in use. Return to side when not in use.
